Witches Scoop Pool at Capital Awards Night.
The Witches attended the Capital Football Awards Presentation evening to receive their Championship and Premiership trophies along with the "Golden Boot" going to Natina for top scorer in the Division. In a surprise decision (at least to recipient Jerry), rounding out a very successful night, the Witches also came away with the Coach of the Year Award to cap off another sensational season. 2009 CHAMPIONS & PREMIERS
The Witches completed their hugely successful season with a thrilling 1-0 victory over a valiant Woden Valley to wrap up their second successive double. It was a fitting farewell for nine of the squad, seven of them being with the original team that played in Canberra.

Radford Rockets put up a hell of a fight but eventually the Witches won the day 4-3 to enter the Final against Woden Valley at UoC next Sunday

Witches - Champions
The Witches have been crowned Div 1 League Champions following an emphatic 7-0 victory over a lethargic Radford Rockets. (Full story in News)
Now they meet the same team next Sunday in the semi-final at Uni of Canberra and the Witches cannot afford to be complacent as Radford will not play that poorly again.

Wonderful Witches - One Down, One to Go
The Witches played superb football to roll Gungahlin and take another huge step closer to securing the Div 1 Championship. Only Radford Rockets now stand in the way of a second successive league Championship for the young Witches. Full story in News.

Witches Late Fightback in Battle for Supremacy - It always promised to be a great game and that is the way it eventuated. The Witches left it late (very, very late) but they managed a draw with Radford Ravens to leave the Witches in the box seat with two games remaining. (full report in News)

Witches Improved Performance - the Witches showed a welcome return to form in their deferred game on Sunday against CGGS, renewing optimism for this coming weekend's top of the table clash with Radford. Number 1 supporter Pru Goward, dissappointed that her busy schedule has kept away from some games, has sent her best wishes to the Girls for this week.

Witches to be Strikers??? - Preliminary discussions have begun between the STFA Executive and the STFA Strikers management to include the Witches under the same banner to ensure ongoing participation in the Capital Football competition. It is to be hoped that the Witches will be invited to join the next stage of talks. (Full story in News).

Witches Lose Top Spot - The Witches struggled to beat Monaro Panthers last Sunday, turning in their worst effort of the season before escaping with a 1-0 win. The result allowed Radford Ravens to grab top spot on goal difference following their 9-0 rout of Gungahlin. (Full Story in News)

Injuries causing concerns for Witches: With the season now well into the second round the Witches are battling to field a full side each week with injuries causing major problems. Last week the Witches won 4-0 but only had 10 players to start and suffered two more injuries during the game with both being in doubt for this weekend. (see news for full story)
